Police: Ohio attacker had a knife in each hand
Police union boss: Man had a knife in each hand when he went at officers after stabbing spree
By The Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ' An Ohio police union president says a man who went on a stabbing spree was armed with a knife in each hand when an officer shot him multiple times outside a downtown office building.

Police union president Jim Gilbert says Columbus officers responded within a minute of 911 calls Wednesday to a "very chaotic scene" with people screaming.

Police say the man's stabbing spree began in the admissions office of a technical school in the building. Police say four people were critically hurt, including the attacker. A fifth person had minor injuries.

Gilbert says the attacker went at police and the officer "did what she had to do." He says the officer is a 15-year veteran of the police force.

The 25-story office building houses Miami-Jacobs Career College and offices of Ohio's attorney general.
