By The Associated Press

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) ' Prince Harry began his second day in Brazil running a one-mile (1.6 kilometer) race and playing rugby in Rio de Janeiro's Flamengo beach.

The prince held the Brazilian flag as he led more than 1,000 youths, local authorities and artists during Saturday morning's race.

After the race he and a group from Rio's Morro de Cantagalo (Moho-jee-Canta-gahluh) slum played rugby for about 30 minutes.

Harry is also scheduled to take beach volleyball lessons and tour another hillside slum.

He arrived in Rio Friday and met with top business people, artists and sporting figures at an event center atop Rio's iconic Sugarloaf Mountain.

He planned to travel to Sao Paulo state on Sunday for a charity polo match.
