Rocket fired from Lebanon to Israel falls short
Rocket fired from Lebanon to Israel lands in border town, wounding Lebanese woman
By The Associated Press

BEIRUT (AP) ' A senior Lebanese military official says a rocket fired from Lebanon toward Israel fell short, wounding a woman.

The official says the rocket was fired late Sunday from the southern village of Majdal Silim and hit a home in the Lebanese border village of Houla.

The attack came nearly two weeks after rockets fired from Lebanon struck northern Israel for the first time in more than two years.

The militant group Hezbollah has fired rockets into Israel in the past, but has not claimed responsibility any attacks since 2006. Smaller militant organizations, some Palestinian and some linked to al-Qaida, have launched rockets on several occasions.

The official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity in line with regulations, said an investigation is under way.
