Romney defends business record in face of attacks from Gingrich
ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) ' Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is offering a defense of his time working in finance as his rivals attack his business record.
At a rally in Rochester Sunday, Romney told the crowd he once stocked shelves at Staples, the successful office supply company that his venture capital firm invested in. Rival Newt Gingrich attacked Romney's record at Bain Capital, the venture capital firm he led, during debates over the weekend.
Romney also said Sunday he knows what it's like worry about losing a job. He told the crowd he understands more about working in the real economy because there were "a couple of times" when he was worried he was going to "get pink-slipped."
Romney was also holding a rally in Exeter, N.H., on Sunday night.
