"Rotten Egg" gas puts mice in suspended animation

Hydrogen sulphide gas can induce ?suspended animation in mice and may one day help preserve organ function during intensive surgery, say researchers...

Okay, so it's not truly rotten eggs, it's more precisely the sewer gas that has the smell of rotten eggs that puts mice into a pseudo hibernation state.

But as you roll back after your 8th hard boiled egg this week, you can try to convince someone that the eggy sleep that you're under is merely a test for suspended animation...
