Organizers: South Korean romance will kick off Asia's leading film festival in Busan
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) ' A South Korean romance about a former boxer and a woman slowly going blind will open this year's edition of Asia's top film festival.
The Busan International Film Festival said Thursday in a release that the annual event will run from Oct. 6-14 in the South Korean port city and draw internationally acclaimed directors like France's Luc Besson.
The festival will open with South Korean director Song Il-gon's "Always." The 2011 movie features South Korean heartthrob So Ji-sub.
The nine-day event is expected to draw film investors and distributors. Organizers say the 16th edition will present more than 300 films from 70 countries.
The event will close with Japanese director Masato Harada's "Chronicle of My Mother."
