Suicidal suspect in San Diego police killing seemed untroubled, investigators seek clues
By The Associated Press

SAN DIEGO (AP) ' The uncle of a man suspected of fatally shooting a San Diego police officer in an unprovoked attack says the news came out of the blue.

Larry Collins said Monday that his 23-year-old nephew ' Dejon Marquee Williams ' lived alone in a rented apartment for about a year after several years living with friends. The occasional construction worker just bought a used black Audi sedan.

Police killed Williams Saturday after he allegedly shot Officer Jeremy Henwood, a Marine Corps Reserve captain who recently completed a year-long deployment in Afghanistan.

Williams had a minor criminal record. Police Capt. Jim Collins says he had no history of mental illness.
