Sandusky defense effort to get information about accusers to be topic of Pa. court hearing
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) ' Whatever disputes remain between Pennsylvania prosecutors and Jerry Sandusky's defense lawyers about turning over evidence before trial are expected to be addressed in a court hearing.
The Wednesday afternoon hearing at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte will also likely deal with requests by schools and governmental entities to have defense subpoenas thrown out.
Judge John Cleland is holding the proceeding with Sandusky's trial on 52 criminal counts currently scheduled to begin June 5.
The 68-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach is confined to his home awaiting trial; he has denied the allegations. His lawyer says Sandusky isn't expected to be in the courthouse for the Wednesday pretrial proceeding.
