Lacking cash for campaign ads, Santorum opens New Hampshire's Primary Day with media blitz
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) ' Rick Santorum is hoping to emerge as the leading conservative alternative to GOP presidential front-runner Mitt Romney in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.
The former Pennsylvania senator is preparing for a busy day of visits to polling places and nonstop media interviews Tuesday. He did not buy advertising in the state and instead is relying on a constant stream of television appearances to put himself before the voters. He is slated for appearances on cable programs and radio shows before visiting polling places to do some last-minute, face-to-face campaigning.
In his closing message, Santorum says Republicans don't have to settle for someone who doesn't share their values. He says he needs a strong showing in New Hampshire for his campaign to continue on to South Carolina and Florida.
