SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) ' The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department says it has called off the search for a fourth man believed to have died when a 24-foot fishing boat capsized near Santa Cruz Island.
A sheriff's statement said Tuesday that 37-year-old Jose Juan Becerra Perez is now listed as missing and believed to be dead after his body could not be found for two days.
The bodies of his three friends were recovered Sunday, after the boat from Channel Islands Harbor didn't return.
The sheriff's statement says the remaining three victims were 37-year-old Sieng Sophorn Bun of Oxnard, 54-year-old Edgar Allen Isnec of Port Hueneme (wy-NEE'-mee) and 52-year-old Ramiro Alvarez Duarte of Oxnard.
Preliminary evidence shows that the men all died of some combination of hypothermia and drowning.
