Slain airman's son dies in accident at SC home
2-year-old son of airman killed in attack in Germany dies when dresser falls on him at SC home
By The Associated Press

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) ' Authorities say the 2-year-old son of an airman killed in an attack at a German airport has died after a dresser fell on him at his family's South Carolina home.

Don McCown, the deputy coroner for Anderson County, says William Alden was trying to reach something on top of the dresser when it fell on him Saturday. McCown says the boy lived at the home with his mother, Patricia Brooks Alden, and his 5-year-old sister.

The boy's father was Senior Airman Nick Alden of Williamston, who was 25 when he was killed in March 2011 outside an airport in Frankfurt, Germany, by a man authorities said was a Muslim extremist. The family was preparing to leave for vacation when the boy died.

Authorities say the boy's death was an accident, and no charges will be filed.
