House Republicans want federal regulators to consider impact on small business
WASHINGTON (AP) ' The House is set to vote on a bill that would give more weight to the impact of federal regulations on small business.
Passage of the measure Thursday would send it to the Senate.
The bill is the first of three Republican measures that try to curb what GOP lawmakers say are aggressive and sometimes costly regulations by the Obama administration.
The Republican-run House has passed numerous bills this year to overturn or delay proposed rules, but most of those bills took aim at specific proposals.
The latest measures would not be limited to any particular rule or agency.
Small-business owners can be a powerful political force, and both parties are trying to win them over. Small businesses are a major focus of President Barack Obama's job-creation plan.
