Soldier's spouse preps for visit with first lady
Ahead of visit from Michelle Obama, soldier's spouse reflects on military family needs
By The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ' A Minnesota woman whose family has coped with two military deployments says she's looking forward to talking with Michelle Obama about what they learned.

The first lady visits Minneapolis on Friday for a roundtable with several military families. It's part of the first lady's program to promote support groups and resources for military families.

Nicole Lovald (LOW'-vahld) says she didn't know much about military life when she married a soldier at age 21. She learned as he was deployed to Kosovo and then later to Iraq.

Lovald has advised military members who are students at the online university where she works. She hopes to tell Obama about the need for easy access to mental health services for veterans and families.
