US stocks fall in line with European markets; warnings from Kodak and a telecom gear maker
Stocks are down slightly at the opening bell. The drop follow declines on Wednesday in Germany and France as the euro weakened against the dollar.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 22 points to 12,375. It jumped nearly 180 points the day before on the first trading day of 2012.
The Standard & Poors 500 index fell 3.5 points to 1,273. The Nasdaq fell 7 points to 2,641.
The declines followed a warning that Eastman Kodak Co. be delisted if the stocks doesn't rise above $1 in the next six months. Phone equipment maker Acme Packet Inc. plunged 19 percent after saying its quarterly profit and revenue would be well below analysts' expectations.
German's DAX fell 0.8 percent, while the CAC-40 in France was down 1 percent.
