Strong earthquake hits Mexico's western Guerrero state, felt as far away as Mexico City
MEXICO CITY (AP) ' An 6.8-magnitude earthquake has struck Mexico's western Guerrero state, causing buildings to sway as far away as the nation's capital. There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Service says the quake registered a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 and was centered about 78 miles (126 kilometers) north of Acapulco.
High-rises swayed in the center of Mexico City, and shoppers were temporarily herded out of some shopping centers.
