Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, August 31, 2011.

High pressure will build over the nation on Wednesday bringing clearing conditions over the Plains and maintaining the pleasant conditions for most other places. A few areas of wet weather will break through the high though.

A tropical wave in the Yucatan Channel will bring wet weather to Florida. This rain will be enhanced by a front in the Atlantic ocean, and some strong thunderstorms are possible across the state on Wednesday.

The tropical wave will push into the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday, where it stands a small chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. Regardless of the wave 's tropical characteristics, it will continue to move to the Northwest on a trajectory to hit Texas later in the week. Rain from this system will be a welcome relief to drought stricken Texas, the state is suffering from its worst drought in recent memory.

Another area of rain will come to northern Montana and Idaho as a storm in Canada sends some clouds south into the US.

In the Mid-West, temperatures will begin to rise on Wednesday as humidity comes up to. Temperatures will peak on Friday with some readings close to 100 degrees. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday have ranged from a morning low of 32 degrees at Quillayute, Wash. to a high of 108 degrees at Imperial, Calif.
