Tropical Storm Dora further weakens in Pacific off Mexico, with top winds of 40 mph
MIAMI (AP) ' Forecasters say Tropical Storm Dora has weakened on its trek over cold Pacific waters off Mexico, poised to become a tropical depression later in the day.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Dora's top sustained winds were 40 mph (65 kph) at 5 a.m. EDT Sunday.
Dora was moving northwest at 9 mph (15 kph), poised to turn more toward the north-northwest off the west coast of southern Baja, Calif. It was expected to slow in forward speed as it weakened to a tropical depression and then a remnant of a storm in coming hours.
All storm warnings and watches had been canceled as of late Saturday.
Dora's center was 155 miles (245 kilometers) southwest of Cabo San Lazaro, Mexico.
