UCLA hires Jim Mora as new football coach, replacing Neuheisel
By The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) ' LOS ANGELES (AP) ' UCLA has hired veteran NFL coach Jim Mora as its new football coach.

Mora was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks, going 31-33 over four seasons. The son of longtime NFL coach Jim Mora is a former University of Washington defensive back who had only one season of college coaching experience at his alma mater in 1984 before beginning a 25-year career in the NFL.

UCLA made the move Saturday. Mora will be introduced at a news conference next week.

Mora replaces Rick Neuheisel, who went 21-29 over four seasons. He was fired last month after UCLA finished his fourth regular season with a 50-0 loss to No. 5 Southern California.

Mora spent the past two years out of coaching, working as a television analyst.
