US lacking biggest names for Pan American Games
Despite missing top stars like Phelps, US looking for good showing at Pan Am Games in Mexico
By The Associated Press

GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP) ' Just like the Olympics, the Pan American Games come around every four years and bring together some of the best athletes from the United States in a multi-sport international competition.

Unlike the Olympics, however, stars such as swimming great Michael Phelps and runner Allyson Felix prefer to skip the event altogether.
