US urged to complete probe of 2010 border death in San Diego after video surfaces
WASHINGTON (AP) ' The mother of a Mexican man who died after U.S. border authorities shot him several times with a stun gun in San Diego is in the nation's capital pressing for answers.
Luz Rojas began her two-day visit Wednesday after the release of a video that appears to show 42-year-old Anastasio Hernandez being shot in May 2010 while on the ground. He's surrounded by about a dozen agents.
Rojas and several federal lawmakers plan to deliver a petition with 32,000 signatures to the U.S. Justice Department demanding results in the investigation into the deaths of Hernandez and several other people on the border.
The witness video was provided to The Associated Press by a journalist and aired last month PBS. A Justice Department spokesman declines to comment on it.
