Wal-Mart DVD players recalled due to fire hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday said 1.5 million DVD players sold exclusively at Wal-Mart since early 2006 were being recalled because they can overheat, creating a fire risk. The agency said it had received 12 reports of overheating by the Durabrand DVD players, five of which resulted in fires that caused property damage but no injuries.
