Court records show wrong-way driver in Ohio crash that killed students was cited previously
By The Associated Press

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) ' Court records show that the woman police say drove the wrong way on a highway in Ohio, killing herself and three college students, had been previously cited for a lane change violation.

Records at Toledo Municipal Court say 69-year-old Winifred Lein pleaded guilty in September 2002 to a traffic violation involving driving safely within marked lanes.

The records show a court cost of $61 for the violation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Lein was driving south the wrong way on Interstate 75 early Friday when she crashed into a car carrying five Bowling Green State University students.

The accident killed Lein and three students and sent two more students to the hospital.

A message was left at a phone listing for Lein.
