Miami inspired lounge opens at the Hard Rock
A little piece of Miami is coming to Biloxi with the debut of a new Miami inspired bar and lounge. Tonight, a VIP sneak peek opening party was held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Excitement and anticipation filled the air at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as people awaited the arrival of Mr. 305, the brand ambassador, for the new I Love 305 lounge in Biloxi. Hard Rock General Manager Todd Raziano said, “We’ve got an international celebrity that’s here in Biloxi, promoting his concepts and that is going to put Biloxi on the social media map.” During the VIP sneak peek, Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich presented Pitbull with a key to the city with a proclamation. Pitbull said, “Thank you God, thank you Biloxi, and thank you to everyone for the opportunity. How do I feel? Very proud to be here representing all Latinos.” Since the beginning of the year, Pitbull has been working alongside the Hard Rock team to make the tropical lounge and night life concept come to life. Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast CEO Milton Segarra said, “It’s important to keep diversifying the experience and I think what the Hard Rock Hotel is doing is great.” The 305 flavor is expected to be felt even through your taste buds with the 48 different Miami inspired drinks. ILOV305 Director of Operators Shannyn Nellett said, “Our drink menu is heavily focused on Miami, the Cuban and Latina and beach Tiki vibe.” Raziano says this new concept will be a great addition to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. “These are the types of things that bring more people into the region and that’s what we all need. The more people, the more fun, the more tax dollars, the more money, and so we are just really excited to partner with such a celebrity.” The lounge is located at the center bar of the casino floor and is now open to the public.

Former St. Martin wide receiver returning to football in 2018
For Kalem Reddix, the talent has always been there, but when it came time to sign with Colorado State his grades weren’t and that was back in 2017. Now more than a year removed from his last down of organized football, the former St. Martin standout has a new home and he’s ready to remind everyone why he was once one of the nation’s top receivers not too long ago. As is the case with many top recruits out of high school, Kalem Reddix dealt with a lot of in-decision as an upper-classman at St. Martin. "I was more caught up in like who has a big school, who has a big field, nice field, nice uniforms, but when it comes down to it that doesn't mean anything." From commitments to Southern Miss and later Colorado State to nearly joining the military and then enrolling in classes at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Reddix was a hard guy to keep up with and never once saw the field in 2017. "I cried a couple games watching games happen because I loved the game so much, and just seeing that it made me work harder and work harder each and every day. And people, I had doubters each and everywhere, but I also had people helping me up to build my self-esteem back up. But honestly, I look up to the Lord, and now that's what I got. My self-esteem back right, I'm back pushing." That newfound swagger eventually landed the former yellow jacket a shot at redemption, his last chance if you will at East Mississippi Community College. "I wasn't really caught up on the reality show; I was just more into it with the coach. He's a great coach, and I'm expecting him to do great things as I work hard and he can get me out." A former three-star product according to ESPN, Reddix still has plenty of Division I upside. Even Nick Saban was curious enough to invite him up to Tuscaloosa for a private workout on Saturday. "The trip to Alabama, that just excited me when Coach called me. So I was like oh man, like I'm being noticed. Yeah, so I'm back on the map. And I was excited to go up there, and I can't wait to go there and show them what I can do." What he can do has never been in question, but the fact remains he hasn’t done what he can do in a while to which Reddix says ‘challenge accepted.’ "Yeah, I fell off the map but now I've got a lot of eyes wide back open. A lot of people are like welcome back, I'm glad you're back. But I thank them, and then to all of the people that doubted me I'm just like, I really don't pay no attention to them. They just give me more motivation to go harder each and every day." Joining Reddix on the unofficial visit to Alabama is former teammate and Mississippi State commit Brandon Cunningham, a four star recruit per ESPN. Former St. Martin and Biloxi standout Donte Starks, a four star linebacker, will be making that same trip to T-Town next week.
