Mississippi State women’s basketball coach receives contract extension
Hard work pays off for Mississippi State women’s head basketball Coach Vic Schaefer as he signed a four contract extension with the Bulldogs. Despite the heartbreaking back to back losses, Schaefer is the only coach to guide his team to the national championship in the past two years. Last season, he was named national coach of the year due to finishing the regular season 30-0, earning the first ever number one seed in program history. The 2017-2018 Bulldogs had a stingy defense, allowing only 56 points per game, while also taking care of business on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 81 points per game. Schaefer will make a little over $1.5 million next season, rising to $1.6 million in the 2020-2021 season.

While at UK, Solid Blue fans didn't get to see Vanderbilt in action much, but when they did he brought energy and intensity when rebounding. What fans didn't get to see was what he can do on the offensive end. If you ask Vanderbilt, he's eager to show it off. Check out the video for what he had to say.

"We're going to speed it up."
