Hearse used after 1963 slaying of JFK in Dallas sells at auction for $160,000

DALLAS (AP) ' A white hearse used to transport President John F. Kennedy's body following his assassination in Dallas has sold at auction for $160,000.

The Cadillac carried the bronze casket containing JFK's body on the afternoon of Nov. 22, 1963, from Parkland Memorial Hospital to Dallas Love Field Airport, from where the body was flown to Washington.

The Dallas Morning News ( ) says Kennedy's widow, Jacqueline, accompanied the casket in the hearse wearing her blood-spattered pink Chanel suit.

The newspaper reported Monday that Stephen Tebo, a collector and real estate developer from Boulder, Colo., bought the 1964 Cadillac at auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Saturday with a bid of $160,000 plus a $16,000 buyer's commission.

Tebo owns several hundred classic cars including a Rolls-Royce once owned by John Lennon.
