Downton Abbey Creator Julian Fellowes Talks Taking on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet

Romeo & Juliet is one of the world's most often-told love stories, but when Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes set out to adapt the work, he said he wanted to present a "glamorous" version of the tale for this generation to discover. Fellowes talked with us about avoiding settings like a "skating rink or department store or underground garage," unlike some other modern versions of the filim, and what it's like to adapt The Bard's very famous words. Romeo & Juliet hits theaters this Friday.
