(Reuters) - Engineering firm URS Corp and British defense contractor BAE Systems added a further 4,200 to the number of workers who have been temporarily laid off due to the U.S. government shutdown. URS, which builds energy and other industrial projects, has furloughed about 3,000 workers, while BAE Systems said about 1,200 employees from its intelligence & security and support business had been told not to report to work for now. Companies have announced at least 6,600 workers have been put on furlough due to the 10-day shutdown. ...
