Twitter is dying to make its product look different. But it just cant pull the trigger. Look at Tuesdays mobile app update. About one or two percent of us were thrown into little test buckets. Its not one big redesign. Its a bunch of little tweaks and flourishes, all adding up to a familiar-yet-different Twitter app. Pushing out a bunch of different versions to a select group of users is a novel way to test on mobile.
