Bangaldesh Jamaat-e-Islami leader and war criminal Abdul Quader Mollah was hanged Dec. 12 in the first execution of a war criminal in Bangladesh. The Daily Star reported Mollah was executed at 10.01 p.m., hours after the country's highest court dismissed his petition to review his death sentence. The leader had refused to seek presidential clemency following the Supreme Court's rejection of a review petition of his death sentence.
