In Michigan, roughly 30,000 customers remained without power, down from 399,000 since a weekend ice storm swept across the state. The worst-hit area continued to be around Lansing, where 3,000 customers were still in the dark Saturday morning. Lansing Board of Water and Light, which is city-owned, said most customers should be back online by late Sunday, although a few scattered homes could continue into next week. BWL General Manager J. Peter Lark said the utility will study the way it handled the power restoration and cleanup to try improve its future performance.
