Never discount a sitting president -- just ask some of the people who have run against him. While President Obama has had a less-than-stellar 2013, the Republican he defeated in the 2008 election -- Sen. John McCain of Arizona -- notes that the incumbent remains a formidable political figure. "We all wear thin with the American people after a while," McCain told the Associated Press. He added: "To count a man of that talent out at this point in time in his administration would be a huge mistake."
