The daughter of a man killed by separatist guerrillas in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district in 2001 was married Friday with the army's help. Muhammad Hussain, resident of Songri in Kalakote was killed by the militants when he denied their demand to provide them shelter and food during night. His death left his wife, Shamim Begum and six-year-old daughter Zarid, with limited resources and sources of income. She then approached the unit of the counter-insurgency Rashtriya Rifle (RR) based at Kalakote.Seeing her condition and having known the history of her husband, the RR battalion decided to step forward and assist in the arrangements for the marriage which was solemnized Friday.
