Green will be good, red not so much for 300,000 West Virginia residents anxiously awaiting word on when they can again use tap water for anything other than flushing toilets. West Virgnia American Water says it has begun flushing the 1,700 miles of pipes affected by Thursday's chemical spill, and that untainted water soon will be flowing in the Charleston area. Clean water will flow by zone, with high-density, high-need areas that include hospitals and nursing homes getting water first. "Thank you for your patience!," the water company tweeted Monday.
