Chevrolet's Corvette Stingray was named the North American Car of the Year on Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. General Motors designed the seventh-generation Corvette to rival Porsche 911 and other hip sports cars. The Stingray can go from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, making it the quickest corvette ever made. The base model sports a redone 460-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 that has 25 more horsepower than the base engine in the last generation.
