|Peer-to-peer file-sharing company BitTorrent is urging Sony to "take back control" of The Interview by releasing it through its self-publishing platform. BitTorrent, once known as an aid for Internet pirates, has pushed to legitimize online downloads by working with artists to release content in paid "bundles." A company spokesman says that a BitTorrent bundle "is in fact the very best way for Sony to take back control of their film." Sony pulled The Interview from all theaters following a decision by the major theater chains to not screen the film, which was scheduled to open Dec. 25. Many Hollywood stars, including George Clooney, have called for Sony to release The Interview online, and BitTorrent's message details how Sony could self-publish the film.
