Uber CEO Indicted in South Korea for Violating Transportation Law

Uber 's expansion into Asia hit a snag Wednesday when prosecutors in South Korea indicted the company's CEO, Travis Kalanick, on the grounds that the service violates the country's transportation law. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office charges that Uber's service — and those of it competitors — are unsafe and violate a law that bans rental car operators from competing with taxis to offer rides for fee.
