BRIANNE SPORTSCAST 01/29/17 Mon, 30 Jan 2017 03:34:10 +0000 BRIANNE SPORTSCAST 01/29/17 BRIANNE SPORTSCAST 01/29/17 KTAB whole lot of different sports going on tonight... let's first start in australia with a very historical match... rafa and federer back at it agan again these guys haven't faced off in 6 years and both are coming off of injuries last season.. a lot behind this match-- pick it up in the fourth set.... nice rally here but here comes rafa for the kill.... nice forehand winner down the line... 2-1 nadal leads-- still in the fourth set.... another long rally with some good range from the two.. there's a nice cross court shot from federer and an amazing! forehand return from nadal that somehow lands in for the win.. rafa leads 4 to 1 -- fifth set... federer leads 4 -3.... he gets a pretty backhand return.. nadal hits wide and federer breaks... leading 5-3 in the fifth-- five sets later and it all comes down to this... championship point right here... federer with a big forehand... maybe it's out? nadal challenges.. it's ruled in and roger federer is your champion!what an amazing match between two of the greatest... federer wins it in five and that is his 18th career grand slam victory..... this was a great story and one that tennis and sports fans in general love.. here's federer talking about rafa 3 <<roger federer (:00-:05) said, "rafa defintely has been very particular in my career, and i think he made me a better player. him and a couple more players have done the most to do that to me. it remains for me the ultimate challenge to play against him. it's definitely very special. i said that also before the finals if i were to win against rafa it'd be super special, and it's very sweet because i haven't beaten him in a grand slam final for a long long time now. last time i guess was 2007 at wimbledon in a five setter, and now i was able to do it again.">> switching sports now, it's time to talk some nba!! we've got a couple games tonight, 3 so we start first with the dallas mavericks travelling down south to the red hot spurs...-- let's pick it up in the second... wesley matthews drives to the rim and pops it out to dirk, he does the rest... that bucket moves him into 15th place in nba history for 3's made-- onto the third... mavs turn it over.. and it's kawhi leonard who finishes it off with a nice lil dunk-- let's go to the fourth... yogi ferrell hits a wide open dirk at the top of the key, that's a money shot for the big man -- so we've got 24 seconds left... mavs up by 3... seth curry brings it down, jukes out a handful of spurs and lays it in for the bat basketthe mavs take down the spurs and get their first regular season win in san antone since november 26, 2010!! 3 let's keep on playing basketball and go up to cleveland... cavs hosting the thunder-- we start in the second... channing fry gets it to lebron on the run... he finishes it off with a huuuuuuuge slam!!!-- onto the third... kyrie irving lofts it up and tristan thompson slams down the ally oop-- i know yall want some more lebron... cavs rebound and kyrie finds a wide open lejames bron, that's a nice little dunk for 2-3 2-3the cavs take this one 107-91 in a convincing win... but how about a milestone in lebron's career?? tonight he became the first player in cavaliers franchise history to score 20,000 points... wow what an accomplishment since we've covered all of the other sports let's get to football.... one week from today we'll have a new super bowl champion... champion...the falcons or the ps patriots the falcons left today to head to houston and downtown it got a little crazy.. the city of atlanta is beyond excited for the dirty birds to get to houston.. and no surprise... this is just the franchise's second super bowl... so what's made this years team so different? here's matt ryan to explain 3 <<matt ryan (:00-:05) said, "we're different than we were last year. i mean we've got a lot of different players. we've had some guys that have come in and really helped us. you talk about guys like taylor gabriel, mohamed sanu, aldrick robinson, austin hooper, josh perkins. those are additions to our offense that have really helped. alex mack's been a big addition for us. you know so i think we've gotten better in a lot of areas, and i think that the guys that have been in the system for two years are a lot more comfortable. i think those are two reasons we've played a little bit better.">> better.">>like i said we're a week away from super bowl 51... 51...alright that's the sports.. let's go back to the desk 3 3
