Girl Scouts Courage Confidence & Character Series: Gigi Thu, 02 Mar 2017 15:33:05 +0000 Girl Scouts Courage Confidence & Character Series: Gigi Girl Scouts Courage Confidence & Character Series: Gigi WFRV the story behind peter pan. attend the show april 17 through 22nd and we are giving away a pair of tickets every day next week. head to /contest to enter. >>> the girl scouts courage, confidence, and character series returns tonight with a sweet message of empowerment. >> millaine: we are welcoming gigi butler ahead of her events. she is founder of gg's cupcakes, now the largest cupcake franchise in the world. congratulations. >> guest: it's nice to be here. >> millaine: welcome to green bay. >> guest: i love it. it's my first time. >> millaine: tell us your journey to becoming the cupcake queen. you went to nashville for a different reason. >> guest: to sing and write country music. i opened a cleaning business. i started at 15. i've always been an entrepreneur at some level. at 30 or 31 i thought this is not going to happen for me. i expanded my cleaning business. a claim for taylor swift and leanne rimes and lots of people in the music industry. my brother went to new york and stood in line at a cupcake shop for two hours. he said you should open a cupcake shop in nashville. the back story is i love to bake. everyone in my family bakes. i thought, why not. i took out $100,000 cash advance of my credit cards and went for it. i opened my first store downtown broadway nashville. eight or nine years later here we are. >> brittany: 118 stores later. >> guest: 24 states. >> brittany: absolutely are spreading a message to young girls in our community. the entrepreneurial spirit is something you've always had. what kept you going? what was the drive? you're never afraid to fail. >> guest: i think tenacity is the biggest thing. god for me, but also tenacity. you have to get up and go and not be afraid to fall on your face. pick yourself up. you have one life. don't be afraid to fail. >> millaine: with this much frosting there is no failure. we have to talk about the cupcake she brought us from nashville. >> guest: poor little wounded travelers. these are from nashville baked early yesterday morning. we have a chocolate turtle. we have strawberry, champagne. we also do mini cupcakes. we also have a nutella filled cupcake which is amazing. it is decadent. if you like nutella it is the best thing in the world. >> guest: it is fabulous. >> brittany: my mouth is watering. you have some stores in wisconsin. if you go down to milwaukee we can find you. >> guest: medicine by the school. madison loves us. it's one of our top five stores. wisconsin has embraced us with love and we love wisconsin. they have treated us very well. >> millaine: there will be cupcakes at the event tonight? >> guest: there will be. >> millaine: who do you hope comes? >> guest: hope a lot of girl scouts come. i was a former brownie. i love the girl scouts. i promote them all over the country. it's a wonderful honor to be here. i just love they're coming together and i can talk to them a little bit and offer them sweetness, cup cakes. it will be great. lots of business people in the town are coming. >> millaine: this is open to the entire community. bring your sons and daughters. what a great story. >> brittany: millaine will be there as well. >> millaine: twist my arm. tickets will be available at the door. 25 for the public and $10 for students. >> brittany: meet gg and get a taste of those delicious cupcakes.thank you so much for being here
