Vacation Consulting - 4/17/17 Mon, 17 Apr 2017 12:27:32 +0000 Vacation Consulting - 4/17/17 Vacation Consulting - 4/17/17 KOLR announcer: highlighting businesses and services in the ozarks - this is ozarks professionals. tom: thanks for joining us. with me today is brian with vacation consulting services. brian, thanks for having us by first of all. brian: thanks for coming. tom: how did you get involved with this kind of business? brian: well, in 2006 i started in the time-share industry and, i don't know if you were aware of this, but back in those days it was a $10.5 billion dollar industry. so growing up in the ozarks i really had no idea how important it was to the economy in branson. and then in 2009 when the market crashed a lot of people did not know what to do with their time-share. the time-share industry has got one major issue and that i the customer service side of it. they don't really have a customer service center for you to walk in and get your questions answered and get help with those kinds of things. and so there was a void to be filled. and as a person who was working with all different clients down there they would call me and ask questions about it and it kind of just evolved into its own company. tom: so how do you help your clients? brian: yeah, that's a good question. three or four different ways we can help people. time-sharing has evolved since 2009 as any industry has to. if you have a change in industry you have to evolve and make things better. and so one of the problems with time-share is the maintenance fees and the mortgages you put on these time-shares. and when you go to these centers to talk to them, since there is no customer service center, they send you to an actual sales center. and the salesman is going to try to sell you more of what you already have. and that's not necessarily a bad thing but if you don't need more and if you need questions answered then where do you go? so we can help people with - we have different law firms that we use to help people out of mortgages, or out of their maintenance fees or if you still want to be involved with your time-share, which is a great thing to do, there are ways to not have to pay all the maintenance fees. and so we just help in different ways based on the conversation we've had with different resorts and made deals with them on helping them out. tom: so if you want more information, just give vcs a call. announcer: you can always see more ozarks
