http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12516/6882392?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Fri, 21 Apr 2017 10:51:30 +0000 Fit Source Golf Tips Part 2 Fit Source Golf Tips Part 2 http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12516/6882392?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WAGM we have for this between the golf swing of an elite player and that of the average golfer. but this week on fit source sarah duncan is back with aaron marston for part two on how to express power at the right point of your golf swing. < well we are back again this week to talk about golf and i am here with aaron marston. aaron last week we talked about balance. what are we doing this week? so this week we want to learn what to do with that balance and what we want to do with it is to express it and power at the right point of the golf swing. golfers okay especially us recreational amature golfers we golf when it's golf season and then we don't when it isn't and then maybe by the end of the season we've developed some semblance of a golf swing okay but a mistake that a lot of recreational golfers make is we played baseball or we played softball before we played golf okay and with baseball an d softball what i'm trying to do is boom shift weight backside or get here but i am still not down through the ball i'm staying behind just staying behind the ball swinging more on a flat or upward trajectory where with a golf swing i want to come down with a ball okay so this is an impact bag it's a cheap canvas sac with a pillow in it you could make one of these on your own find a place where you can set this take your address position and then from there what we want to focus on in terms of an expression of power can i generate club speed at the bottom of my swing and kind of impact it down through the golf ball so with this i'm going to take my address my normal swing and i'm coming down and staying through the golf ball when you hit this you should be balance and you should have a nice impact position at the bottom okay so let's go ahead and try that sarah. much better and that's a way more powerful finish i don't know if you feel that yeah you can hear the difference in the amount of power that you can generate so you don't have to be a fitness nut to be a good golfer you just need to know how to express power in the way that a golfer expresses power and that's put your body in position to create power and express it in the right point of the swing now i want you to take your golf grip on the shaft of your club from there i want you to stand right up tall take a nice balance stance l;ike you would when you address the ball and from there i just want you to let your hips rotate let your hips rotate let your hips rotate okay try a few of those good good now listen let's do a couple more let's see if you can hear it okay go ahead good now what do you hear you hear that woof right now you can control where that woof happens by where you release your hands so if i just ask you go ahead and swing that and see if you can make that sound right here okay go ahead good okay now let's make it right here there see that let's do it again okay how about right here there again good now with that side of the club take your address position address and take an actual golf swing and let's make that sound right on your front foot there again very good very good one more perfect one more and hold a nice high finish for me perfect so it's an expression of power okay power doesn't do me any good if i express it back here okay my ball is up here so if i express my power back here it's not going to do me any good so it's a number of factors it's mobility can i move the way that i need to for a golf shot it's balance can i do it and not loose my balance and fall out of my shot it's power can i generate power through the golf ball and express it in the right place okay so that little routine from mobility to balance to an expression of power will go a long way in your first few rounds of the year okay so we're not so frustrated that we give up golf by july okay well aaron i feel like you've changed my golf game in the past two weeks i think i'll be wearing a green jacket by the end of this season so thank you so much for coming on thank you looking forward to getting out there yeah > and next week sarah introduces you to a game called pickle ball. ### today, showers
