((heather))here with the details on the upcoming torch run happening in the community is champaign county sheriff's correctional officer, dylan bullard, and special olympics athlete, emmerson williams.the law enforcement torch run is coming up next month...tell us about this event.why do you do it?you do lots of fundraising in the community, including the cop on rooftop....what is the money used for?you have big goals for this year... emmerson, tell us about the special olympics and what you enjoy participating in...which departments >>matt: we are looking at pictures of previous years torch runs. have you participated before? brother was an athlete so i helped coach his team. now that i am in the correctional officer career, i participate in a whole new aspect. >>heather: let's talk about why you do the torch run. the special olympics has its time in. >> you see everyone smiling. it's always a great time. athletes are having a great time. families are in the audience and stadium. all around a great day in bloomington. >>matt: do you like running? >> yes. >>matt: how many years have you been participating? >> for a long time. [indiscernible] >>matt: so you pull together friends. >>heather: you also participate in the special olympics. what events do you participate in? >> gymnastics. i like it. [indiscernible] i'm in there to support all of my friends. >>heather: and to win medals. >>matt: that's really important is that support. you need it as an athlete and your friends too. >> yeah. >>heather: this is one way our law enforcement gives back to the community. you have an event at the dunkin' donuts coming up. >> the one in rantoul, the one on prospect. and there is one more that i am drawing a blank. >>heather: what's important is you get to throw donut holes at when you see police officers on the roof. >> we will be waving. all smiles. >>matt: when you see them going like this, come by and get a doughnut. >> i believe in those 15 years, we have raised over $3 million for special olympics. >>matt: i want to ask you, lots of people are seeing this. if people think they can participate, why do they want to do it? why do you do it? >> i like dunkin' donuts. - - [indiscernible] >>heather: just to clarify, the torch run, is it something the community can participate in? >> anyone can volunteer to run alongside law enforcement. it's just like the main olympics. we have a torch. we are guardians of the flame is our slogan for this year. law enforcement will start in fisher carrying the torch throughout the community to raise awareness. >>heather: i think we have a look at your website because that's the best way for people to get involved and donate. there it is. www.special olympics illinois.org. we will connect you at ciliving.tv. thank you for hanging out with us. >>matt: flame of hope and inclusivity. thanks for being here. still ahead, living with a health issue or recovering from a major injury is tough. see how - - makes recovering at home easier. >>heather: would you believe there
