Fans remember Southern rock trailblazer, Gregg Allman

Southern rock legend, and founder of The Allman Brothers Band, Gregg Allman passed away at his home in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday. His website stated he battled with health issues for years, Allman died due to liver cancer complications. He was 69 years old.

"he created souther rock and everybody else followed." allman passed away saturday at his home in savannah. according to his website, he battled health issues throughout the years. "i saw gregg in a small littl club in alexander in old town virginia back in the late 70s." david laws visited the big house from atlanta. he says some of the best times he had were at the free allman brothers concerts. "many, many of my friends an associates saw them live doing those great things. i get goosebumps talking about it because they make everybody feel like family." and to keith newberry, who's lived in macon all his life, allman was definitely, like family. "gregg allman i macon, georgia." he says he and his friends have been listening to the band since the beginning. "we grew u loving southern rock and we're going to miss him." details o the funeral aren't finalized. but allman's manager and close friend, michael lehman, says gregg will be buried at rose hill cemetery in macon. his brother duane allman and band member berry oakley are buried there as well. "that is s fitting right there dude." newberry says even though they won't have gregg anymore, they'll always have the musc.
