"unfortunately we had heard a lot about all the issues we were going to run into with redding." kate brown... a project manager at "emerald kingdom greenhouse" says they are ready to expand... "right now we are restricted by minimal square footage here sharing with neighbors and we've just outgrown out current location." but not in redding. "we've decided to leave redding based on the red tape we encountered while trying to move into stillwater." originally they wanted to stay in redding... but it proved to be tough. "it's kind of disheartening when you are starting a project as a business, a growing business, and anyone you are encountering is saying 'oh good luck with redding'." the company was looking to move to the stillwater business park... but their 5-hundred thousand dollar offer in the materials. "our building materials being unconventional it's a teflon material and structural steel is what our open span trust building, we are actually building for us to move into, is redding but we had to go where the opportunity was for the business." brown would not disclose how much they offered for the land in red bluff... but she did say it was less than 5-hundred-thous and dollars. they expect to start construction in july. i did reach out to the city redding but have not heard back. cristina davies
