Klassique Kafe closing its doors Wed, 07 Jun 2017 00:43:54 +0000 Klassique Kafe closing its doors Klassique Kafe closing its doors KRCR channel 7. a cafe ... known to honor veterans .... will close it's doors after three decades of serving breakfast and lunch. k-r-c-r news channel 7's cristina davies went to "klassique kafe" and spoke with the owners who say it's bittersweet. good evening cristina hey allison... the owners - who are also sisters - tell me they are finally taking time for themselves... and retiring.. but they will still continue their efforts to help and honor veterans. "we are tired. it's time to go play for a while." sisters millie ellis and kathie steers running their restaurant... they've dedicated to veterans "we couldn't be like we are now if it wasn't for them." pictures of those who served who they have served... hang on the wall... "they allow us to be here to hangout. hang on the wall." marine veteran jim richards... and army veteran blair noel have been going to klassique kafe for years. "always felt loved, that was a big thing, and you felt comfortable because you had all these guys around you." sitting at the booth next to their military photos. "i'm in the center of the picture in the back. i'm a marine sniper." the veterans say they will miss the sisters. especially their hospitality. "there's a lot of love that flows through this place." millie and kathie greet their customers ...with a hug...and give them a hug when they leave. and on friday they will say goodbye one last time. "it's the hardest decision we've ever made in our lives." "it's just loosing a part of your heart." the two are retiring...and say it's bittersweet. "i'll probabably just go home and cry." "same with me." "i'll remember this place for the rest of my life." the sisters say one of the vets is trying to find a place to move all of their equipment and the veterans memorabilia in hopes of opening up a training restuarnt for veterans. cristina davies k-r-c-r news channel
