http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12464/6955861?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Mon, 12 Jun 2017 15:42:42 +0000 Friday Flicks Vegas Film Critic Reviews The Mummy Jeffrey K Howard reviews this week's new releases http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12464/6955861?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KLAS Las Vegas, NV it easy. >> should have worn my sunglasss today. an egyptian princess who was entomed under the desert rises for the reboot of the mummy. >> that would raise the dead right there. >> so i want to hear about this because it has been a highly anticipated movie. >> universal studios is known fr its monsters and they're rebooting the entire franchise. we're going to have dracula and frankenstein. they're starting with the mummy reboot and tom cruise plays a soldier who is also kind of a grave robber. of course he accidentally uncovers the queen of cairo. unfortunately, you know, it's gt great special effects. of course all these movies do, but tom cruise plays it like a smart alec and there's always oe liners and there's always comedy in the movie. i don't think it works at all. i liked it when brendan frazier did it, but i wanted a more serious tom cruise. also russell crow is part of the reboot of all the monster movies they're coming outs. i wanted more russell crow so it's kinds of a confusing mummy. there's a love story in there that doesn't make any sense. they mix christianity with solar eruption culture -- egyptian culture. >> he's kind of a jerk. if you want a seriousness with this, an action adventure that you can get behind the main character and with tom cruise, everything is like, here comes the zombies, like something out of the walking dead. it's like they put no imaginatin into the story. >> film making 101. six screenwriters put together this movie. that is the kiss of death. passing it around to different people you know it's not going o be a good experience. i love you, tom, i'm a big fan f yours, but this big reboot failed. >> to check out more of his reviews check out his website. >> you can also se
