WCIA watching ciliving in your community. it's your chance to learn all about farm fresh dairy products. where else, down on the farm. >>matt: it's happening in your community. we've got - - it's good to have both of you here. and who is your friend? >> this is - - one of our goats. >>matt: do you pet goats? she's not freaked out or anything. >> the horns are a safety concern so we remove them when they are very young. we give them painkillers so it does not hurt. >>matt: so she was bred for what purpose? >> she was bred to make cheese. this goat has high butterfat and lower volume which makes more delicious cheese. >>heather: can we talk about butter because you have a special connection to butter. >> i was a princess - - finalist in minnesota. we have a live carving of butter. >>matt: a butter queen. this is a first on ciliving. that's kind of cool. >> we will be able to see the dairy goats and i will have the dairy but her head at the event as well. >>matt: if you take the butter out. >> we will make it cooler so it will stay stable for a while. >>matt: dairy days is coming up. >> saturday from 2-5. we wanted to provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about the dairy industry and highlight the food industry that central illinois has. - - that makes cheddar cheese and cheddar cheese kurds and - - that makes yogurt will all be there selling their products. i brought a few on display here. the barns will be open and we will be doing tours. the butter sculpture will be available for viewing. we will have educational activities for kids. we are doing a food drive and cookout all to benefit the eastern illinois food bank. >>matt: she had to come up for air. is that a requirement that you are able to carry around a baby goat? >>heather: you think i can hold it? >>matt: there we go. there she is. >>heather: i am the ghost whisperer. >>matt: tell me about young - - what do you guys do with that? >> it's for kids between the ages of 18-35. our main purpose is - - or we've been connected to a farm. grain, crops, beef, cattle. we want to be able to teach the public about that. since we are starting to get disconnected from eggs. >>matt: do you feel like people know how the food gets their table anymore? >> i think it's getting far removed. people don't have that experience that's why we want to provide the experience like dairy days. like hold the goat. you can't pick them up but you can touch them. >>heather: i want to know how to be the princess of the butter. >> that's actually a minnesota event. >>matt: you are doing really well. so some of the proceeds will benefit a local charity. tell me more about that. >> they also do - - statewide. they praise $978,000 for food banks. in champaign county, it's eastern illinois food bank. we will do a nonperishable canned food drive. just come. we are suggesting nonperishable food donations and we will do a food cookout with grilled cheese and quesadillas. >>heather: you know there will be great quesadillas. >>matt: he was eating your shirt. does she have teeth yet? >> she does. they are kind of like kids, they want everything in their mouth. she won't actually eat your shirt. >>heather: ladies, thank you so much.
