"we were confused by some of the president's remarks" he continued... tweeting that birds are rarely impacted by wind turbines. "there were clearly some misconception s or some mis- statements in his speech." the iowa environmental council says president trump should have chosen his words more wisely... to reflect the true values of the state. "i think iowans are aware of the benefits that we've seen from wind energy in the state, which have been really impressive. we have 36 percent of our power in the state comes from wind, and that's the most of any state in the us" "we use electic, we use wind, we use solar." the president did say he supports all kinds of energy... but focused heavily on coal "coal is something we have a tremdous advantage of." trump also emphasized that thousands of jobs are created by the mining indusry. but the iowa environmental council says the economic benefits of wind power are far greater. "because of wind generation... our customers pay some of the lowest rates in the country and they won't see a base rate increase for at least another 12 years."
