"so when i struggled in my professional career, when i struggled in personal parts of my life, just having a understanding that there was a base of support through family friends and that network. throught the belief system that gives you an ability to perservere, and stay strong during the tough times." speaking of fundraisers...the brown bear junior hockey team will be hosting it's annual golf tournament tomorrow in kenai. things start at eight o'clock in the morning and donations are tax deductable. if your remember this spring the club's future was in question before raising three hundred thousand dollars in less than a month. this weekend also in kenai the peninsula senior open. that features two senior divisions ages 50 to 60, and ages 61 and above, and they'll have prizes will be presented to both net winners and gross winners in each division the alaska baseball league nearly reaching it's half way point as the bucs find themselves just half a game out of first place. standing in their way tonight was the eagle river chinooks. bottom of the first...todd lot hits one to the parking lot...two run home run for the rajun cajun..and the bucs take the early two oh lead. in the second the chinooks would respond....jeremy johnson gets a two r-b-i single and the chinooks tie things up. this one would go back and forth all game but a three run sixth inning and three run eighth. helps give the buccos the edge...they win twelve to eight in a wet one. lastly tonight in this week's installment of the fishing report i head to ship creek. what many regard as the world's only urban king salmon fishery. showing us the ropes was dustin slinker owner of the bait shack, and he says fishing ship creek is all about the timing and the tides. anglers were told they had success using spin and glows or spinners. the limit is one king salmon over twenty inches per day, and five per season, and coming up
