http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7003108?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Mon, 17 Jul 2017 03:03:47 +0000 Record breaking kayaker Woman from Missouri is bound to break a record. http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7003108?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WLUC this is what we wanted to do in marquette because no one had done it before. >> lake superior day was started by a group of thunder bay residence in the early 1990s to highlight the importance of lake superior to the environment. >>> a woman is now 1500 miles into our solar, electric. the last time we talked to her she had just crossed this short. today she joined us right here in marquette. tv6 met up with her this morning to get an up date on her trip there >> i have totally fallen in love with michigan. >> she lives in kansas city. but after visiting, she says she fully plans on selling her house. >> now that i've seen this area i think it is great. >> the original trip was planned for 8600 miles, that included the seaway but weather and time made her modify. >> i won't have time to do it all. even if i don't reach my goal, i will still be okay. >> to break the record, she has to go 3000 miles before december 31. >> when i paddled to this beach yesterday, i had 1500 miles. i'm just going to do the five great lakes and finish in detroit. i will call it an expedition. >> on and she has a truck and trailer following along. >> i thought i would see what i can do and i got more involved than i planned. she needed the help so i was available. >> the truck keeps all of her supplies which isn't necessarily every night. >> we don't go everywhere she go. the truck can't go everywhere the shoreline goes. >> if i can't make it to a place where he can pick me up at, i have my tent with me. >> so far she is only had to spend that i intertec 12 times. she has been grateful for the people all along the great lakes who offers her a bed and warm water. of all the kayaking she has done, she didn't hesitate recommending one stretch of shore. >> if you want to do a short trip, if you pulled out here, and camped at 12 miles and went into this area that would be an amazing trip. >>
