The dough is hand made every day along with homemade sauce and hand grated cheese.http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7003486?cpt=8&wpid=2637WCIA>>> time to get some pizza. we're at villa's pizza in mattoon. the owner is joining us and his daughter. good to have you both. >> thanks for coming. >> this is a lot of fun. you've been in this business a long time. >> yeah. i tell you what, 40 years been in the pizzeria business. all those 40 years right here in mattoon. we've always made our own dough fresh every day. we make our own sauce. all our vegetables are cut fresh every day. we grind our own cheese from the block. >> and probably the most important part, at least in my mind, since you talk about family history is the sausage. >> yeah. the sausage is made. we get it fresh every day. it's made from my father's recipe, and it's actually locked up and nobody can get that recipe. we've had people try. >> fair enough. that's one of the things that makes this place special. let's walk over here to check out some of food. you guys do a lot of buffets, john, don't you? >> right. we have a real nice salad bar here. we have over 36 items on it, and we have a lot of people really come -- they really come for this salad bar. >> it looks really good. it looks like you have some soups down here. >> we do. in the summertime we cut it back. usually in the wintertime we run two soups during the buffet hours, but during the hot months we kind of put it back to one. we have a real good chili and a real good chicken noodle soup that we have. the number one item for us is always our pizza. we have a full peys. >> pizza bar here. we usually put four different types out there to kind of keep it basic. we always have the cheese, pepperoni, sausage and then a special, which is sausage, pepperoni, sausage green peppers and onions, which is a big se sellse seller here of the it's not that papery crackery type of stuff? >> no. we're not famed for any thick crust here. our crust is kind of regular, but we do have a lot of customers that like their crust really thick, and we can accommodate them very easily. >> so we just walked a couple of feet and come back to this huge room. you actually have space to accommodate parties or traveling sports teams? >> uh-huh. of course, we have this beautiful italian backdrop there. a lot of people like to come in for birthday parties. we have -- my sister had her baby shower here. it was a surprise. a lot of teams like to come back here and eat and they're kind of separated from everybody. >> john, brianna, thank you so much. continuing the tradition of the pizza for another generation is really great. all the best to you going forward. on western avenue in mattoon. check out their lunch special. they have a great lunch buffet and a sunday brunch that you need to check out, too. we'll connect you with all
